Instituto Radiofonico Fe y Alegria (IRFEYAL) commenced its distance education programmes in 1976.

The minimum age for admission to the programme is 15. There is an examination to assess the educational level of students.

Courses are delivered using printed correspondence texts prepared by/for the Institute; existing textbooks used as a supplement to the printed correspondence texts; collections of readings compiled by the Institute; radio; face-to-face tutoring and counselling; practical work; weekend schools.
